The first step to drilling a new well is permitting. Residential, Irrigation, Industrial, Type II Public, and Type III Public wells require permitting from the Local Health Department. Apply to your local health department for a permit:​
Minimum Isolation distances must be maintained from potential contamination sources such as fuel tanks, septic systems, and animal lots. Deviations may be requested as needed.
